Buddhism, for me, is a way of approaching life.
The essence takes on endless forms, both visible and invisible.
This project is about approaching the Dharma – Buddhist philosophy and practice through movement and dance.
Its an spiritual process together with a creation process; studying the Dharma, going deeper into its understanding while using the moving body.
CREATION PROCESS
We will research and practice the Buddhist principles, which will ultimately lead to a dance piece around the theme of the six Buddhist fundamentals.
The piece will consist of 6 parts, each part dealing with different subjects of Buddhist philosophy and practice:
Observation, Compassion, Mind – Sem, Interdependence, Hunger and Loss, Death.
These will merge and overlap into one all-encompassing world.

Bar Altshuler
I am a mover, a young creator, currently living in Brussels. My main interest lies in the research of movement and its many connections to our personal life, both socially and individually.
I am now in the process of creating my own project, “Dancing Dharma”. My aim is to express the Buddhist fundamentals through dance, while teaching contact improvisation and dance for different age groups.
I will also continue to expand my own physical training through Axis syllabus, and the practice of contact improvisation abroad. I am also doing a teacher-training program at the MBS Academy, which is based on the Feldenkrais method.
